We hope you are as excited about our trip to Sudan
as we are! Sudan-Reach staff members are
working hard to ensure that our two-week journey
will be fun, inspiring, and fulfilling. We are
so grateful for your generous assistance and
contribution to this important cause!
Below are just a few updates and reminders to assist
you (and us) with planning and preparation for this
trip. Remember, you may call us at any time
with questions or concerns!

Your
Fundraising Efforts!

Few more Tips and Ideas
- Keep circulating your personal
fundraising page to more of your family
members, friends, and colleagues. Don't be
shy about reminding those who haven't
responded!
- Partner with a local restaurant
to have a fundraising night where a portion of
their proceeds go to you. Checks should be
made out to Sudan-Reach (for tax purposes) but the
funds will be allocated to your fundraising
account!
- When it gets warmer, organizer a car
wash! These can raise anywhere from
$500 to $1000 a day.
- Plan a movie screening event in
your home, school, community room, etc. We
can provide the film. You invite your
friends, family, and colleagues and ask for a
suggested donation.
- For a less formal, fundraising event,
have a coffee or tea event at a local
coffee shop or at a private home.
- Contact local businesses for
contributions. Or ask a local
business to match the money you've raised.

Need
More Time? By
now, many of you are ready to send in your deposits on
March 1st. However, if you would like to extend
your deadline to March 15th, and have an
extra two weeks to fundraise, Sudan-Reach
can arrange that for you.

Congratulations
to our star fundraiser Jill Kelley who
so far has raised $2,705
towards her trip fees!
Jill's
advice to volunteers:

sure people know their donations are
tax-deductible

--Ask
friends to forward it with an introduction about
you

--Send
the page to everyone you know, even if you
haven't spoken with them in a while. (Its also a
great way to reconnect with people!)

Few Reminders:

Some
of our family members and friends don't have
email, or don't feel comfortable donating
online. Consider contacting them by regular mail
or give them a call and ask them to donate to
your fund. Let them know they can pay by check
or make a cash contribution to you.

Make
sure you know where to go for your vaccinations.

Donations
Some of you have generously
suggested the idea of bringing items such as clothing, soaps,
toys and toiletries to distribute while in Sudan. Sudan-Reach
welcomes and supports these efforts. If you have any questions
about the type of items you may bring please direct your
questions to Loloa Ibrahim at librahim@sudanreach.org. Also,
remember to keep your luggage within the acceptable weight
limits. The airlines will allow 50 lbs per suitcase, 2
suitcases per traveler. |
